It allows water to drain away from your vessel while preventing water from entering through the scupper holes. Sea-Dog Line's Thru-Hull with Scupper Valve is robust and corrosion-resistant, with a scupper valve for fittings below the waterline that can be closed if the through-hull fails and reinforced pipe/hose for through-hull fittings above the waterline.
