A popular anchor type is a fluke anchor also known as a Danforth, it is Lightweight stows flat and holds well in mud or sand. The Fluke anchor's style has an excellent power-to-weight ratio making it easier to handle. The fluke anchor doesn't hold well in grassy or rock surfaces. The Seafloor will dictate the style of anchor used as will the wind and sea state. Setting two anchors may be necessary to keep the boat from swinging, dragging or when in a crowded anchorage.
