Magnesium anodes, which are commonly used in marine environments, fight corrosion effectively and economically. Sierra Marine Engine Parts (18-6114) Anode (Magnesium) is to prevent galvanic corrosion of the boat's motor. It is a set of metal blocks that attach to the outboard or sterndrive motor.
Sierra's 18-6114 Anode is intended for use in Alpha I Gen II applications beginning in 1991. GLM 12703 and Mercruiser Stern Drive 806189A1, 97-806189, 97-806189Q1, and 97-806189T1 are interchangeable. Each Sierra product meets or exceeds the specifications of the original equipment part it replaces.
