A ship's hull is the waterproof body that has been shown to the elements. Shipbuilders covered the hulls with zinc pieces to protect them. "Sacrificial Anodes" are the zinc components used on ships. Electrically, sacrificial anodes are connected to the ship's hull. They are metals that are more reactive than the ship's body and systems. As a result, they shield the ship's body and complex while keeping the boat safe, earning the term 'Sacrificial Anodes.' Zinc is employed because it has a higher voltage in the water than the propeller, and the current is more inclined to flow from it.
