When an electrical current is applied to the coil of the Mercruiser Solenoid by ARCO Marine (SW099), a magnetic field forms around it, drawing the plunger. It turns tightly wrapped copper wire that conducts electrical current and produces a strong magnetic field/flux. The Mercruiser Solenoid by ARCO Marine (SW099) on the engine has a key function of transmitting battery voltage to start the boat. Contact inside the starter solenoid activates electronically, the circuit opens that pass electrical current from the battery to the starter, revives the engine power ready for a drive. It has an isolated base with white housing that fits Mercruiser.
