A crucial part of a ship's propulsion system is the thrust bearing. It allows the propeller to drive the engine forward by transferring propelling forces from the propeller to the ship's hull. The goals are to transmit thrust loads supplied to the axle and stop it from drifting in the axial direction.
The bearing support, segments of white metal-coated steel, and thrust collar on the crankshaft make up the thrust bearing. The purpose of the thrust bearing is to absorb the propeller's push, which is subsequently transferred to the ship's hull and causes the watercraft to drive in the thrust direction.
