BRASS CASTLE NUT - 88-103 sometimes known as a castellated nut, has three notches on one end that mimic the crenelated battlements of a castle. To keep the nut securely fastened and vibration-resistant, it functions as a positive locking mechanism. To stop loosening, it is used in conjunction with a cotter pin.
