DRIVE PIN (5/Pack) (203230) BRP The drive pin is put into the hole and protrudes evenly from both sides of the prop shaft. As the shaft rotates, this protrusion engages cutouts in the propeller, allowing the pin to drive the propeller around. Non-thru-hub exhaust systems are also common in drive pins. When removing the propeller from the gearcase and there are no exhaust openings visible between the propeller and the gearcase, this occurs. Slots cut perpendicular to the prop shaft bore are carved into propellers for drive pins.
