The Exhaust Pipe is a genuine Volvo Penta Elbow. It is to change the angle or direction of the pipe run. Pressure on the pipe works to change the fluid flow direction. This will connect the two elbow pipes with the same or different diameters. The openings of an exhaust elbow assure that an internal water cavity of the elbow can drain when the associated internal combustion engine is off. This will prevent the exhaust port from carbon buildup and becoming a corroded wall.
