Volvo Penta Fan Shroud V2 (20551498) directs airflow toward the radiator, which helps to keep the coolant cool. The fan blade is also protected by the shroud from debris entering and harming it. A fan shroud helps to reduce noise. Keeps any air that isn't drawn through the radiator out and creates a vacuum, allowing the fan to pull from the entire radiator surface area. The shroud minimizes turbulence and thus noise by allowing for a smoother flow of air through the cooling system. When a pull fan draws air through a radiator, a properly constructed fan shroud will substantially enhance its efficiency.
