The Platinum Series Instruments from Faria Beede include spun aluminum gauge dials with bespoke designs and a polished stainless steel bezel for a high-quality, elegant appearance. Faria's unique domed glass Fog-Resistant lens is included on all Platinum Series gauges. These lenses withstand scratching other forms of fouling that are common in the marine environment. A low-amperage current is sent from the gauge's meter to the ground via a variable-resistance transmitting mechanism. With variations in pressure, temperature, and other factors, the resistance of the sending units rises or falls. The amount of current permitted to flow through the sender to the ground varies as the sender's resistance varies and the meter deflects, indicating the fuel level.
