Fuel Pump by EMP (1399-39550)
The fuel pump in a boat distributes liquid from the fuel tank to the carburetor or fuel injector of the internal combustion engine. Carbureted engines frequently use low-pressure mechanical pumps mounted outside the fuel tank. Fuel-injected engines frequently use electric fuel pumps mounted inside the tank (and some fuel-injected engines have two fuel pumps: one low-pressure/high-volume supply pump in the tank and one high-pressure/low-volume pump on or near the engine). If the fuel pressure is too high, the engine will run rough and rich, failing to burn all the fuel pumps, rendering the engine inefficient and polluting. The engine may run lean, misfire, or stall if the pressure is too low.
