When the engine starts to sputter once you've hit the top speed on the highway or worst loss of power, it is a sign the fuel pump is going out. Order the fuel pump recommended by many. Fuel pumps from Sea Star Solutions are available in different inlet/outlet sizes and attachments, and most models include a gasket. This fuel pump inlet is at 7 O'clock while its outlet is at the 5 o'clock position. These can be determined by looking at the bottom of the fuel pump with the rocker arm held at the 12 o'clock position. A fuel pump Ford 302 and 351 cubic inch engine fits early Mercruiser, OMC, and Pleasurecraft Marine Ford small block engines.
