A head cover gasket is an engine component that keeps oil from escaping in the engine and protects the cylinder head components from the weather. The gasket, which is commonly a plastic, rubber, or cork, acts as a two-way barrier between the engine cover and the engine. The head coverings separate the cylinder head compartment from the rest of the engine bay. Blow-by gases from the combustion process and oil droplets from the engine's lubricating system are present inside the cylinder head as a result of the internal combustion engine's functioning.
