The GLM 39850, Mallory 9-61504, Mercruiser 27-138651, 27-13865, FI1101281, OMC 3856138, and Volvo Penta 3856138 are interchangeable with the Sierra 18-1237 Oil Pan Gasket. All Sierra products are equal to or better than the original equipment parts they are meant to replace. The oil pan gasket keeps oil from leaking as it travels from the pan to the engine and back by sealing the oil pan to the engine block's bottom. However, no vehicle is secure from oil leaks because oil is permanently flowing. The oil pan itself or a defective oil pan gasket are typically the cause of oil leaks.
