Volvo Penta designed this sealing ring specifically for engines. It will keep the valve cover seal effective, resulting in smoother running and a longer lifespan for the valves, lifters, and other components. Swap the two seals on this item out as needed. Sealing rings are primarily used to prevent liquids or air from escaping. When pushed between the two surfaces, the ring fills the space between them, preventing the release of any fluid or air.
