A gearcase is a protective housing for the gear system of a vehicle or piece of machinery. It transfers engine power and rotation to the prop shaft and propeller. Because the lower unit is the most exposed part of an outboard motor, it spends the majority of its time submerged in corrosive saltwater. A seal kit is a bundle of seals that are the right size and quality for the job. Purchasing an oil seal kit rather than individual seals is more advantageous and cost-effective. For optimal performance and dependability, the gearcase seal kit is built with high-quality materials.
