The Hub and Blades are the most used parts of a boat propeller. Regardless of the boat propeller design, these vital boat propeller elements are always there in every propeller on the market. The 'H' HUB SMALL BORE (22754757) is the central, circular part of the boat propeller. It's also known as the boss or the barrel. It's the component to which other segments of a boat propeller, such as the blades, are attached. A splined inner hub is inserted into the prop and acts as a stress absorber between the prop blades and the shaft. A good prop hub should keep the propeller perfectly centered on the prop shaft, attenuate vibrations, and prevent the shaft from the tremendous shock of impacting something submerged with the propeller.
