Your boat's impeller is a set of rubber vanes arranged around a hub. The tips of these flexible vanes can wear out for causes, including regular use or being in sandy water. The impeller can wear out faster if it is abrasive sand-like material. If your impeller fails, the pump will fail to cool water to the engine, causing it to overheat. You may be able to avoid serious difficulties if you notice that your impeller fails early on.
