Description

The Freeze Plugs kit is a complete set used to fill the sand casting core holes found on water-cooled internal combustion engines. Freeze plugs are also known as Core plugs and Welch plugs. Its function is to protect automotive engines from cold-related damage. Some drivers rarely check this because they aren't immune to failure, even for long miles. Coolant will leak because of bad freeze plugs. Blocking seal compounds might work if the leak is slow and small. Replacing the freeze plug when there is a leak is the best option.
