Locknuts are a piece of hardware for different applications since they are vibration resistant. Unlike free-spinning nuts, locknuts maintain their position in the face of torque and stress by deforming an elastic or metal material. Locknuts are also prevailing torque nuts, stiff nuts, locknuts, or elastic stop nuts. Many lock nuts have a nylon insert in the topmost thread that creates the necessary friction to generate a lock against the appropriately sized mating component. Although lock nuts with elastic inserts are reused, the torque generated decreases over time. You'll need more tension to tighten and loosen lock nuts that employ friction to keep them from disconnecting, especially during the first free revolution before they start clamping down on the part.

Returns Policy
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.)
