The lower unit (also known as the gearcase) is the part of the outboard that transfers power and rotation from the engine to the prop shaft and propeller. You may become stranded in the water if one portion of the bottom unit malfunctions or fails, and that is why it is critical to comprehend how each component functions and how to maintain it. It includes even the tiniest part of the lower unit, what I am referring to is the gasket. A gasket is a seal constructed to link two or more surfaces, such as two piping lengths.
