Mercruiser Shim Kit - Sierra Marine Engine Parts - 18-2292 (118-2292) are used for spacing, leveling, alignment, and insulating reasons to fit into joints or between surfaces. In order to establish precise spacing on grinding tools, saws, slitting blades, milling cutters, and other machining equipment, Arbor offers a variety of shims or spacers in a range of thicknesses. Arbor shims are well-used in applications where a keyway is not necessary. Arbor spacers have a notch that keeps them on a shaft key. Shims of any size can be well-created using shim stock, a type of material. Slotted shims fit around bolts and studs so they can be well-positioned where they are needed. Wedge shims include vertical and horizontal ridges that interlock to keep them in place and allow for tiny changes.
