By pumping cold water into the running engine of your boat, impellers keep it cool. Having a broken impeller might cause a lot of problems. A broken impeller prevents water from being pumped inside, overheating the engine. Physical wear and tear, such as cracks in the impeller vane roots and melted or worn vanes, are all indications of a defective boat impeller, as are the boat engine overheating when you accelerate and the impeller vanes losing flexibility.
