Isolation mounts are rubber-to-metal bonded assemblies that provide shock and vibration protection for machinery, vehicles, and equipment. They are made composed of a molded rubber component and a metal flange or threaded fastener that allows them to be mounted. Isolation mounts reduce the energy that can degrade mechanical structures by isolating an object from the source of stress and vibration. They vary from vibration dampers in that dampening absorbs or modifies the energy instead of preventing it from entering.
