Maintaining the separation of cooling water and exhaust gases requires routine inspection of the risers and manifolds of the exhaust system. The ideal practice is to replace the exhaust elbow gaskets after these inspections.
MOUNTING KIT - 18-8529 this consists of 1 x 18-0897 Exhaust Elbow Gasket, 4 x NSS Nut, 4 x NSS Lockwasher, and 4 x NSS Stud. It is with the 18-1970-1 Riser, Sierra's new exhaust manifold elbow mounting kit. It fits 229 and 262 cubic inches Mercruiser GM V-6 305-350 cu. in., GM Small Block V-8 454 cu. in., GM Big Block V-8 in. It is interchangeable with Sierra risers with PN 18-1927.
