A mechanical gasket as an O-ring is well-used to handle compression between two parts. It is well-positioned inside grooves. They become one of the most prevalent seals used in machine design when this works to form a seal. As a sealing device, O-rings' primary function is to stop fluid or air from escaping. The ring takes up the clearance when it is squeezed between two surfaces, preventing any fluid or air from escaping. Additionally, they keep their shape, so they will automatically take on their original condition upon release. O-rings can seal at low or no pressure, thanks to their memorythe O-ring contracts against the groove wall when pressure is applied, causing expansion in the opposite direction.
