Oil seals prevent dirt and extraneous materials from entering shafts and bearings, such as oil or grease outflow. An oil seal is an exterior circular metal portion and an inside flexible member that seals the gap and is attached to the metal part. The oil seal's metal shell is mild steel with a deep drawing quality that allows it to be blanked, punched, and stamped to the required proportions.
