This Sierra oil seal is formulated to work with your engine, saving you time and money on returns and exchanges. It will fit perfectly the first time. The two sections of an oil seal are the outer circular metal piece that seals the oil and the inside flexible element that seals the oil and is chemically attached to the metal part. There are two options for rubber sealants: (1) synthetic and (2) natural rubber sealants. Cutting away the flash that forms at the sealing edge during molding is used to prepare the flexible member's sealing lip.
