The filters eliminate the solid airborne particles that might contaminate the pump's other components. Pump failure or complete pump damage may happen from contamination of the pump. It will, at the absolute least, have an impact on the pump's effectiveness, wear and tear, and lifespan. A critical component of pump protection is the basket strainer. The fluid can be filtered off the suspended particles, filaments, and algae that are particularly detrimental to pumps.
