The ring backup inhibits seal extrusion in extreme pressure applications. It safeguards the lifespan of the entire sealing system from pressure spikes. RING, BACKUP*CLEARANCE 335144 is a split-type ring most widely used backup ring in todays modern hydraulic system. They are frequently used to force a high modulus material into the continuously widening extrusion gap, closing it and allowing the rubber O-ring to fill the void without going into the extrusion gap. When applied efficiently, the Split Backup ring can open or spread to fill the extrusion gap under pressure. The RING, BACKUP*CLEARANCE 335144 protects more expensive parts from leaks and contamination.
