A rowlock is a brace used to secure an oar to a boat. When rowing a boat, the rowlock acts as a fulcrum. And the thrust force provided to it transmits the propelling force that the rower applies to the water with the oar to the boat. A rowlock by RECMAR is for steadying oars on rowing boats and dinghies and allows the transfer of thrust from rowing to forward propulsion on the water.
