The Seal 4 Pack is a Thermostat gasket/seal used for the Mercury Marine engine and designed for use in select Johnson/Evinrude applications. Consider the outside diameter, shaft size, and width in selecting a seal. The thermostat seals the thermostat housing to keep coolant from leaking. If the cooling system thermostat seal or gasket leaks or the housing cracks and the engine overheats. It can wear out over time due to low coolant levels that cause overheating. Check the thermostat gasket for any damage If the coolant is leaking, temperature fluctuations, or overheating.
