SHIFT BUSHING - 92-21022 In a manual gearbox, bushings connect the shift cable with the transmission system. It is located in the shifting mechanism at the bottom of the shifter lever, alternator, sway bar, control arm, and shock absorber in the suspension system. Shifter bushings shield the gearshift from vibrations, making shifting more comfortable. They contribute to a tighter shift that doesn't feel loose or bounce between speeds by reducing the "throw" in gearshifts.
