The Shear Pin size 16 (5/Box) is marine stainless steel shear pin 1/8 X 1 1/4. It is for use with the browning shear hub. These pins are to fail at specific loads to protect heavy-duty machinery from torque overload. They protect your thruster from damage. It is used to retain sliding components in a fixed position until sufficient force is applied to break the pin. It is a safety mechanism so that if your propeller hits something hard, the pin will shear rather than damage more expensive components of your motor and gearbox.
