A starter motor is an electric motor that is used to start a vehicle. Because of the quantity of energy necessary to turn the engine over, the starter motor requires a lot of currents. The drain of the starter motor temporarily lowers the battery voltage when a motor is initiated. Your starter is a motor that runs on electricity. When you switch the ignition to "run," it engages, and the engine turns over, allowing it to draw in air. A flexplate or flywheel is attached to the end of the crankshaft, with a ring gear around the edge.
