Seawater that has not been filtered can foul pipes and clog heat exchangers. The corrosive nature of seawater requires careful material selection. A marine strainer is an important component of your boat's saltwater intake system. Seawater strainers are available in a variety of sizes and help keep the hose from becoming clogged by filtering out plant life and debris. A strainer is required on every boat that pulls in outside water to cool the engine, whether the raw water travels directly through the engine or through a heat exchanger, to prevent grass and other debris from reaching the pump.
Volvo Penta Strainer (3582507) is a filter that collects particles from seawater before it is used to cool the engine's sweet water system and, eventually, the engine. The seawater impeller pumps seawater through the strainer, which separates particles from the seawater in the filter basket. Maintaining a boat properly can be a difficult chore. Cleaning your boat brings a lot of satisfaction and security in terms of preserving and protecting it.
