Non-automatic bilge pumps operate using a float or a panel switch. If the pump becomes clogged with debris, removing the motor cartridge enables easy cleaning of the strainer and impeller. Electric Submersible Pumps are by far the most popular type of electric Bilge Pump. Submersibles have very high outputs, are cost-effective, have a low amp draw, and are simple to install. They are designed to fit in the lowest part of the bilge and require only discharge pipe installation and an electrical supply. Other possibilities include moving river water and collaborating with solar panels or batteries.
