A thrust bearing supports an axial load, a bearing that rotates between parts to reduce friction (mostly in low-speed applications). The axial bearing is what allows pieces to revolve with one another. A range of bearings that help with axial loads or axial force is thrust bearings. It is an axial bearing that allows pieces to rotate. The goals are to transfer thrust loads supplied and stop the shaft from drifting in the axial direction. Typically, thrust bearings connect against a raised thrust collar that wraps around. The thrust collar enables the transmission of the shaft's axial load. Thrust bearings are on both sides of the thrust collar in pairs.
