Description

A six-sided bolt with a trimmed hex head and a washer face on the bearing surface is a hex cap screw. It must adhere to particular limits outlined in ASME B18. 2.1-1996. Hex cap screws are widely utilized in OEM applications where there must be exact tolerances. Hex-head screws have a hexagonal-shaped head and are tightened by a socket or wrench that engages with the hex head's external faces. A hexagon socket head or an Allen, which has an internal hexagonal socket that may be driven by hex bits or keys, should not be mistaken for these types of fasteners since they have an exterior hexagon head.
