Dealers and boaters may now buy an all-in-one hub that blends the pressed-in hub's shift shock and vibration dampening capabilities with the ease of use, replaceability, and reliability of drop-in designs. In contrast to pressed-in hub propellers, it has not loosened and spun over time in typical operation. On the other competing designs that claim to absorb vibration and shift are less likely to break away and convert to a solid hub once they reach their maximum flex point, putting the lower unit at danger of damage in an impact situation because it has less protection.
