Description

A bolt is usually a threaded hardware fastener used to hold two workpieces together in a specified relationship. Bolts come in a variety of configurations to suit a wide range of applications and requirements. This Anode mounting bolt with model number 18-6245 is suitable in Mercruiser Stern Drives and Mercury Marine engines. When installing anodes, make sure to de-oxidize the area where the anode will mate to the prop or shaft, which can be zinc, aluminum, or magnesium. Once the surfaces are clean and the anode is installed and torqued, tap the anode to properly seat it to the shaft, rudder, and other components, then re-torque it.
