A bolt is usually a threaded hardware fastener used to hold two workpieces together in a specified relationship. When installing anodes, make sure to de-oxidize the area where the anode will mate to the prop or shaft, which can be zinc, aluminum, or magnesium. Once the surfaces are clean and the anode is installed and torqued, tap the anode to properly seat it to the shaft, rudder, and other components, then re-torque it.
