An alternator is a machine that converts mechanical energy into alternating current (AC) electricity. An alternator produces an alternating current and produces electricity by rotating a magnetic field in the rotor around a stator, which is a circle of stationary copper windings. The alternator generates energy to feed the electrical system and charge the battery when the engine is running. The Alternator Volvo 12V 75A - ARCO Marine (60073)will fit the late model Volvo Penta producing 12 Volt 75 Amp. It has Dual 2" Mounting Feet and a multi-groove serpentine pulley. It replaces Volvo part number 3862613.
