The base gasket, also known as the cylinder gasket, is the gasket that sits directly beneath the cylinder and between the cylinder and crankcase. Your engine's top end and the engine cases are sealed together by base gaskets. Prevent annoying engine oil leaks before they harm the engine you spent so much time and effort fixing. The engine block and the head that covers the cylinders are sealed by the cylinder head gasket. The gasket isolates the cooling channels, oil, and cylinders from one another in addition to containing the pressure of controlled explosions inside the cylinders.
