Knowing the warning signs of a failing support bearing will help you spot problems before they worsen or render your boat undrivable. The driveshaft or axles host a carrier bearing, which is essential to how the boat runs. Its sole purpose is to maintain the axle or driveshaft tightly placed to lessen vibrations. Worn carrier bearings might make whirling or rumbling noises while moving at speeds more than 20 mph.
