Boat fenders are excellent for hull protection. Fenders serve as a buffer between the hull and hard surfaces such as moorings, rocks, and other boats. There is usually a lot of traffic during peak hours or holidays, so colliding and scratching other vessels is unavoidable. Furthermore, docking space is extremely limited in large marinas. Fenders come in handy when boats dock close together, especially when the water is rough. Fenders should be hang so that their bottoms touch the surface of the water, then raised an inch or two. Tie them to a solid point as low as possible to reduce swing from the sea breeze. It will help the fenders stay in place and last longer.
