Fenders are cushions that protect a boat from being harmed by rubbing or impacting a dock when tied up. It shields the boat from injury from accidental contact with other watercraft when numerous vessels are moored and rafted together like cargo ships to cruise ships, ferries, and personal yachts. Inflatable and non-inflatable boat fenders are the two most common forms. Fenders are air-filled vinyl cushions that dangle from a fender line and provide cushioning between the boat's hull and a dock or other object.
