Its primary function is maintaining the proper fuel flow by allowing air to vent from the tank while filling and during use. Vents compensate for changes in tank level due to consumption and the expansion and contraction related to temperature. This gas tank vent (SKU 3-352100-1) from Sea Dog is suitable with 5/8 inches hose. It is made of chrome-plated die-cast zinc and has a size of 1-1/8 x 2-1/8. This vent is designed to prevent disrupted fuel delivery by avoiding vacuum build-up during use. Fuel spills and blow-back are avoided because of this vent. To connect the vent hose securely, a 5/8 hose barb is necessary. This vent is suitable to use in freshwater.
