A valve cover gasket is an engine component meant to shield cylinder head components from the environment and prevent oil from exiting the engine. Usually, the gasket is made out of plastic, rubber, or cork to create a tight seal between the engine cover and motor, functioning as a two-way barrier.
The cover gasket closes the space between two surfaces. In most situations, these products are manufactured of rubber and are available in different sizes and forms depending on their use.
